  • We're at the mid-point of the first (very) big Short Story Award for New Writers of the year.
    Deadline: 2/29/16

  • First place wins $2,500 and, of course, publication in Glimmer Train.
  • Open only to emerging writers whose fiction has not appeared in any print publication with a circulation over 5000.
  • Winners and finalists will be announced in the May 1 bulletin, and contacted directly the previous week.
  • 9 out of the last 10 1st-place winners were their authors' 1st print publications.
