Will I get feedback on my submission?

When we reject a standard online submission, we do include some general information, but it is not tailored to the submission. The authors of the top-25 submissions of any competition are notified of their placement, and those results are also published in the monthly bulletins. (If you have set up an ID for yourself at our submission site, we will send you those bulletins. To be sure you get them, as well as password reminders when you need them, just put glimmertrainpress.com and mail.glimmertrainpress.com on your safe-senders list, or feel free to check our bulletin archives, which are posted by mid-month.)
We wish we could provide meaningful feedback on stories—we know how much people would appreciate it!—but we are just two people who read about 40,000 stories, publish eight physical publications (four of those are really full, book-length, short story collections), and a dozen emailed bulletins for writers in a year's time.
Although it is tough getting into Glimmer Train Stories (we only have pages for 40-50 pieces a year), we love reading stories and we two editors read all online submissions ourselves. Thank you for letting us read your work!
